FAQ's

 

What is considered an event?

An event is any more than 15 guests looking to host a formally scheduled event in a semiprivate or private space and order off the event menu. For groups under 15, please call the restaurant directly and dial prompt #3.

 

How far in advance do I need to inquire for an event?

We need at least 7 days to properly book and execute an event, therefore inquiries would need to be placed 8 or more days prior to the event date.

 

Does The Mercantile charge room rental?

We do not require a room rental fee. What we require is a food and beverage minimum spend per event which is based off the month, day of the week, time of day, and section within the restaurant.

 

What is the payment schedule for events?

Besides the deposit to book the event, all other payments will be settled at the conclusion of the event or when the host is ready to close out their bill. Host must bring cash or a physical credit/debit card to pay.

 

What is our deposit policy?

25% of the food and beverage minimum and signing of the contract terms are required to secure your event date and time.

 

What other fees does The Mercantile require?

We require tax, 20% gratuity, and 5% administrative fee, all of which will be charged on the final bill at the conclusion of the event.

 

Which menu do events order food from?

Event groups will preselect what food will be served at their event from the events menu. This food can be served plated, buffet or family style.

 

When are final menu selections due?

Final menu selections are due 10 days prior to the event to the Events Sales Manager.

 

Are we allowed to bring our own cake?

Yes, but the Event Sales Manager must be informed ahead of time. We are happy to cut and plate the cake free of charge upon your request.

 

Does The Mercantile offer tablecloth rentals?

Yes, we are happy to special order table linen. Each tablecloth will cost $5 per table. Our cloth napkins, buffet linen and buffet skirt are complimentary at events.

 

What is our cancellation policy?

Groups have until 7 days prior to the event to cancel. Anytime within the 7 days the deposits will not be refunded.
